After a sleepless twelve hour flight I finally arrive on Hong Kong's Lantau Island and lose eight hours through the time difference. The heat (and the British influence) hit me straight away as I transfer to Kowloon and am dazzled by the lights. We're just in time for the once an evening Hong Kong skyline display which is a light attraction of the major buildings. A huge crowd watches with us from our side of the water before we head over to Hong Kong Island via the Star Ferry (which is one of the main attractions in itself) to get some much needed kip. The following day we visit the number one attraction, Victoria Peak, where we get an amazing view of Hong Kong. In the evening, we visit the Ladies Market and the Night Market where I have my first proper experience of bartering. Surprisingly, I do pretty good and manage to get a good price for a gorgeous chinese dress and necklace.
